Welcome to Break Free, Freshie -
A pilot initiative close to our hearts, made possible by the incredible community spirit here in Freshwater.
Hi, we’re Allison and Mary, Freshwater locals and the founders of devolver. Break Free, Freshie is a pilot as part of the Boomerang Labs Accelerator program in partnership with the NSW Environment Protection Agency, EY and five Freshwater cafes who are taking a leap of faith by incorporating a new way of doing things into their busy operations, all in the name of protecting this little slice of paradise.

Picture this: No more overflowing bins, no more takeaway litter plaguing our beaches –
Every time you order a meal-to-go, the food outlet will hand you your food or drink in a sturdy reusable container, which you get to borrow for up to 14 days before conveniently returning it at one of the participating cafes, for it to be professionally washed and made available for the next person to use.
Well, this vision is being tested right now, in our very own Freshie village.
This isn't just a pilot; it's a movement, a shift towards a circular economy. And it needs your help to come to life.
Every time you borrow a devolver container, you're saying no to single-use waste. It's a small act, but together, it adds up.
